The Golden Globe victor and her daughter Violet, 12, apparently have been vacationing together in Stockholm, where they embarked on a kayaking excursion.

She wrote, "On a pre-middle-school sneak away with my eldest". Did I get us lost in a kayak? Yes. Allow the 13 Going on 30 actress to explain: "Did we paddle as hard as we could for 100 hours and end up in a shipping lane?" I'm afraid so. Did we have to be rescued? "Yup", Garner, 46, wrote on Instagram Monday, adding hashtags "#thesunsetwasabigupside #shenevercomplained #thankyoumattias #welovedyousweden".

Thankfully, Mattias Persson of Långholmen Kayaks, where Garner rented her vessel, came to help, even snapping a photo of the stranded-yet-adorable mother-daughter duo. The photograph shows a silhouette of Garner and her daughter paddling together on the calm waters with the handsome pink and yellow sunset in the background. She later gave him another shoutout on her Instagram Story, posting a selfie of she and him smiling, back on land.

Kayaking may not be her forte, but Garner does have some experience with another outdoor activity: camping. It was created by Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner, who serve as writers. She's starring in a new, eight-episode HBO comedy series called "Camping", about a group of friends who head to the great outdoors for a 45th birthday party.
