Everton fans reach on Twitter to brilliant deadline day

While Bernard was finalising his transfer at Everton's Finch Farm training ground a club delegation led by the director of football, Marcel Brands, concluded deals for Mina and Gomes in Barcelona.

Silva has been desperate to bolster Everton's defence all summer and had been linked with a number of targets, such as Manchester United's Marcus Rojo and Newcastle's Jamaal Lascelles, but Mina was his top target.

With a little less than two hours left for Premier League sides to do deals, Everton are cutting it close but they remain confident of taking both deals over the line in time.

Everton trebled their tally of summer signings from Barcelona on a productive deadline day for new manager Marco Silva.

"It is important that the club want to fight for something".

"This time they're trying to adjust that, but they've got far too many wide-man, I still think".

Colombia defender Mina, who impressed in the World Cup, could eventually cost €31.75million, while Gomes arrives on a season-long loan. It is the best league in the world.

Barcelona can buy the centre-half back for around £30m if he does well at Goodison but, for now, he is an Everton player.

"Bernard is a great player, a player for the Brazilian national team, and I also followed his progress with Atletico Mineiro", Richarlison said on Wednesday. "I believe I will be able to show my best as a player here".

The 25-year-old joined Barcelona in a £42m deal in 2016, less than a fortnight after helping Portugal win the European Championship.
