Lucky charm Paul Pogba equals Premier League record

Postado Agosto 11, 2018

Pogba scored and dominated as United's captain in their 2-1 home win against Leicester City to kick off their season.

Jose is the type of manager who gives someone the captaincy for the right reasons and I think he made a decision to give Pogba some responsibility for managing the game and the players around him, which was a very clever move.

We have big and multi-functional coaching staffs, and I think we are more the head coach than the manager.

But there is something brewing behind the scenes and there has been for some time after Mourinho left Pogba out of the team on multiple occasions last season and publicly criticized him.

"Will his style of play bring us an EPL (English Premier League) title?"

"We play against a team that invest more than us. We must get used to teams who have players of the same quality that we have", he told Sky Sports.

"Paul was fantastic, his contribution was awesome but the fuel was disappearing. Forget the name, the history, the shirt, every match is hard".

Having returned from France's triumph in Russian Federation last month to intense media speculation about his future under United manager Mourinho, the 25-year-old Pogba was named skipper of a team that included debutant Fred.

"Jose Mourinho was brought here to win, you can't three quarters build a house and then stop", he added.

"We don't have a penalty taker, it's how we feel and I chose to take it".

'But he was ready and practised lots of penalties during the World Cup'.

On his United debut, Fred did well at what I would call the ugly work, which was winning the ball back and not trying to be too clever when he had it, and I thought Alexis Sanchez's work without the ball was superb too. "Like I always say, I always give my best for the fans, for my team-mates, for the people that trust me".

United have only won three trophies since, the Europa League, Fa Cup, League Cup.

The former Juventus player also indicated that he is ready to stay at United instead of pushing for a move to Spain by saying he wants to win the Premier League. "Even tonight, I know I can be better and that is what I want to keep showing the manager".
