Danny Welbeck tested as Arsenal left-back

Postado Agosto 12, 2018

The right back wasn't at his best last season and the Arsenal supporters hope that Stephan Lichtsteiner replaces him from the starting eleven but we don't expect Unai Emery to start the veteran right back in such an important match like this.

With sweeping changes to both coaching and playing staff at the Emirates this summer, it's hard to know exactly what to expect from Arsenal.

In the last two seasons at the Emirates, Arsenal have been involved in seven-goal thrillers at the start of the EPL campaign. Hector Bellerin, meanwhile, will need all his speed against Leroy Sane. But, it looks likely that Leno will be the club's first choice for the season over Cech.

David Silva could be a question mark for Sunday's fixture as well.

Emery's side look short of wingers, although Joel Campbell could be a surprise player to feature despite being linked with a move away from north London throughout the summer.

"After Laurent, our other captains are Petr Cech, Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil and Granit Xhaka". City's left-back missed nearly the entirety of last season through injury, and his overlapping will bring an extra dimension to City's attacking play. Kyle Walker will overlap more for City than for England, where he was shifted inside into a back three.

Emery's first season in English football will be a huge test. Manchester City, Winners of EPL 2017/18, Receive Special WWE Championship Belt From Triple H. Ederson, meanwhile, has a very long kick he's not afraid to showcase, despite City's focus on possession.

This we shall find out at 7;45pm on Sunday when the match starts.

City have a full-strength squad available after Kevin de Bruyne and Raheem Sterling returned to training this week.

Arsenal have gone through the pre-season unbeaten while learning Emery's new pressing tactics, but Man City brushed aside Chelsea in the Community Shield last week despite having many of their players still unfit after their World Cup exertions.

Unai Emery is set for a baptism of fire in his first competitive match in charge of Arsenal against the reigning champions and first ever team to hit 100 points in one season.
