Following on from some leaked images of Barry Allen's revamped suit from the upcoming fifth season of The Flash, The CW chose to release the first official poster for the new run that gave us a much better look at the Scarlet Speedster's upgraded costume. "It's a awful photo that I was unaware was being taken, much less being posted". I was clearly feeling myself. "I truly love this suit", he said. Until now, the CW's ever-expanding roster of Speedsters-Barry, Eobard Thawne, and very briefly-tenured Legend of Tomorrow Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale), mostly-have opted for a sort of leather-and-hood combo that makes much more sense on Arrow; like they were cool with using the Speed Force to run at speeds un-seeable to the human eye but also wouldn't be opposed to attending a Nine Inch Nails concert afterward.
In a passionate Instagram post, Gustin wrote about his struggles with packing pounds to play the superhero, while slamming those who judged his physique.
"So here's the thing about this bulls- photo leak", Gustin wrote in an Instagram post. I'm no fashionista, but the new outfits seems to have a modified cowl (with no chin strap); softer, Spider-Man-like fabric (can we say Spider-Man here?); a smaller chest emblem and a semi-translucent neck.
"There's a double standard where it's ok to talk s- about a dudes body", he continued.
"I do my best to stay in shape and add as much size as I can through out these seasons". Stress is something that ebbs and flows for me throughout a season.
The Flash season 5 premieres on October 9th on The CW.
