Brit actor fuels speculation he'll succeed Daniel Craig as 007.
The message sent fans into a frenzy of excitement, as rumours abound that Elba may be named to succeed Daniel Craig as the next incarnation of 007.
The son of a vehicle factory worker from east London, he is now one of Hollywood's most sought-after stars.
While the actor has previously remained coy about whether or not he would take on the part, and even saying he thinks he is too old, fans took his tweet as a positive response to the latest rumours. The original story came from United Kingdom tabloid The Daily Star, which claimed that director Antoine Fuqua spoke with James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli about implementing a Black James Bond into the franchise.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, reps from Fuqua's camp reached out to them to reveal that the conversation in question between the director and Broccoli never happened.
Craig will reprise the role of Bond, which he has inhabited since 2005, in the 25th Bond film which will be directed by Danny Boyle.
