After a few days of claiming that Real Madrid's Croatian superstar Luka Modric had chose to renew with the Los Merengues and therefore having declined a move to Inter, Spanish media outlet AS now backtracks entirely reporting that the former Spurs man in fact is pushing for a move to the Nerazzurri.
The report further suggests Modric is more likely to quit the Santiago Bernabeu for a transfer fee next year or as a free agent in 2020 when his present deal at the Los Blancos comes to an end.
Luciano Spalletti is not desperate for the signing of Real Madrid star Luka Modric, adamant he is "very happy" with the squad he now has at Inter.
However, the Italian transfer window closes on August 17th.
"I believe that sooner or later Luka will play in Italy".
Cristiano Ronaldo has been a major influence in Luka Modric's new desire to ply his trade in Serie A, according to his agent.
Already, Ronaldo made his debut for Juventus on Monday against the club's second team in the annual friendly, but it was abandoned with 20 minutes of play left due to the traditional fans' pitch invasion.
Inter boss Luciano Spalletti hasn't concealed the fact he's interested in signing Modric.
Marko Naletilic told Tuttosport : "Modric didn't just think about playing at Inter, he's really thrilled by the idea of having a big role with the Nerazzurri". He may not come but our directors still did a great job, so let's see. "If Modric were to join us, we'd be very strong", Spalletti said.
