Being the good bloke he is, Hemsworth and his mate Luke Zocchi picked up the hitchhiker and took him with them to Byron, by the way of private helicopter.

The Thor star posted an Instagram video of himself and a friend picking up USA musician Scott Hildebrand in Brisbane, who had just arrived from Mexico.

Scott added that he hoped to keep in touch with Chris and that they're now following each other on Instagram.

The two men had just touched down in Brisbane when they saw Scott attempting to hitch a ride over the state border to Byron Bay, New South Wales. In the beginning of the video, Luke narrated the tale of having "just landed in Brizzy (Brisbane)" when they spotted a hitchhiker. That's where we're going!'

Hemsworth and his friend Luke Zocchi spotted the musician after arriving in the eastern city of Brisbane, and made a decision to offer him a lift.

"We're going to Byron, we'll give him a lift", Hemsworth chimed in.

"Little does he know we're getting a chopper", Zocchi continued.

Scott, who had just arrived in Australia after a trip to Mexico, looked ecstatic about the surprising yet fortunate turn of events.

The musician confirmed on Monday that Chris Hemsworth did in fact give him a ride after the "Avengers" star shared a social media post about the experience.
