After playing professionally in Lithuania, LaMelo Ball is returning to high school basketball and will enroll at Spire Institute in Ohio.

It was a controversial move for LaVar Ball to ship his kids over to Lithuania to play professional ball earlier this year. and with Melo going back to high school, that experiment is officially over.

It's unclear why LaMelo Ball is playing his high school ball in OH, as his older brother is with the Los Angeles Lakers and his family is from California.

According to ESPN, Ball said in an interview that he is excited to return to school and rejoin the class on the court for his senior year. I learned and matured so much.

Early this year he signed with the Los Angeles Ballers of the Junior Basketball Association (JBA), founded by his father LaVar Ball as an alternative to the NCAA. I appreciated the JBA experience my dad provided for me. Ball will compete with and against his peers upon his return to high school and likely will be among the most heavily recruited prospects in the nation. "I can not wait to play with my peers", Ball explained. GEICO Nationals hopefuls like La Lumiere (LaPorte, Ind.) and St. Benedict's Prep (Newark, N.J.) are both on the schedule in November and may not want a blemish on their resume against a team with a professional on the roster.

Ball averaged 40.0 points, 13.8 rebounds, 11.0 assists and 3.6 steals per game during the inaugural JBA season. 4 assists, 8.7 rebounds, and 5.1 steals.

In his first season at Chino Hills, Ball led the team to a state championship and earned recognition as one of the top freshmen in the country.
