A short time later, Porzingis, who tore his ACL last February, posted two photos in an Instagram story that appear to show him sprinting.
Fizdale said Porzingis was "working his butt off" but hadn't progressed significantly from the activity he was engaged in before training camp, which included light running and shooting.
"He's still kind of there", Fizdale said. He's not exactly focused on whether or not Porzingis returns to the team in the second half of the season.
"He's grinding, trying to get it right". Nine months have passed since the procedure, and Porzingis has yet to begin running, according to the New York Daily News.
The timeline for Porzingis' return has been tough to determine, with December considered a longshot, best-case scenario.
"I'm looking at these guys right now". Because that would just be a huge distraction for me mentally, hoping and wishing for KP, that 25, 28 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks, whatever. "That's somewhere else. I don't want to get distracted personally as the coach, anxious about if and when he's coming back. I'd rather be focused on the day-to-day task with these guys, and when he gets back that'll just be a gift for me".
