There have been some definite issues with the Grammys in the past, but now it's time to see how things will turn out this year in light of these changes, as the complete list of nominees for the 61st Annual Grammy Awards has just been announced.
Cardi B is up for Album of the Year for Invasion Of Privacy plus Record of the Year for "I Like It".
Stars have been tweeting about their excitement at being nominated, with Dua Lipa, who is also nominated for best dance recording, for Electricity (with Mark Ronson and Diplo as Silk City), writing: "TWO NOMINATIONS TWO GRAMMY NOMINATIONS IM SO HAPPY BUT I CANT STOP CRYING I CANT BELIEVE IT!"
Five of the eight acts nominated for Best Album at the 2019 awards are women with H.E.R., Brandi Carlisle, Kacey Musgraves, and Janelle Monáe competing alongside the Black Panther soundtrack and Drake's Scorpion plus Post Malone's beerbongs & bentleys. The DAMN. rapper is up for eight awards: Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rap Performance ("King's Dead"), two for Best Rap Song ("King's Dead" and "WIN"), and Best Rap/Sung Performance and Best Song Written for Visual Media.
Other big name nominees include The Carters, Childish Gambino, Ariana Grande, and Travis Scott.
