Stranger Things 3 Will Be Getting a Retro Tie-In Game

Postado Dezembro 07, 2018

The trailer shown at The Game Awards doesn't reveal much but does show that this new game will also have a suitably retro vibe, but this time from an isometric perspective.

If you liked that, there's a Stranger Things game coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Before season 2, they collaborated on a Stranger Things mobile game that had a nice Legend of Zelda feel to it.

The Duffer Brothers didn't provide any more details about the game, and the trailer is quite short, so it doesn't give too much away. But we'll find out soon enough, fans.

If Netflix wanted to keep perfectly in line with Stranger Things' 1980s setting, it would make an 8-bit-style game, but I guess that would asking a lot of players.

Stranger Things 3 The Game was announced to be coming to "all platforms" with the teaser pointing towards a summer 2019 release date - presumably to coincide with the third season of the show.

Netflix is making the new title with the efforts of Bonus XP.

In the meantime, the trailer for Stranger Things 3: The Game can be seen above - and as you can see from the screenshot, the art style for the game, while different from what Telltale was initially going for with its game, looks pretty sweet.

The video game allows you to play as the characters from Stranger Things, including pixelated versions of Chief Hopper (David Harbour), Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder), and Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin).
