"On Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, Raptors 905 guard Kay Felder was charged by police in connection with an allegation of domestic violence".
Felder's arrest was originally reported by TMZ Sports.
Law enforcement confirms Felder was booked for assault and utter threats. Citing sources, TMZ claims the two got into a post-dinner argument before Felder allegedly choked the woman, leaving visible marks on her neck. The victim called a family member, who then called police.
Selected with the 54th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, Felder spent his rookie season with the Cleveland Cavaliers and his second season with both the Chicago Bulls and Detroit Pistons before signing with Toronto in August.
Felder has spent time with several teams over the course of his brief National Basketball Association career, including the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Chicago Bulls, and the Detroit Pistons.
In 11 games this season with Raptors 905, he averaged 18.1 points, 6.5 assists and 4.1 rebounds.
Felder himself has yet to comment on the situation.
In 58 career National Basketball Association games, Felder averaged 3.8 points and 1.3 assists in 9.1 minutes per game.
Felder is the most recent athlete to get in trouble for domestic violence. He was released from custody and is due in court later this month.
