Utah Driver Participating in Viral ‘Bird Box Challenge’ Crashes Vehicle While Blindfolded

Postado Janeiro 11, 2019

On Friday morning, the Layton Police Department of Layton, Utah shared the images showing the aftermath of a vehicle crash in which one of the drivers was allegedly trying to drive with their eyes covered. "This happened on Monday as a result of the driver covering her eyes while driving on Layton Parkway".

Layton Police tweeted two photos of the crash, which they said occurred Monday. No one was injured.

"I nearly feel silly saying this", said Layton Police Lieutenant Travis Lyman. After getting some additional information about the crash, police re-interviewed the teens a few days later, which was when they revealed the crash had been caused by the "Bird Box" Challenge.

The movie Bird Box has become a social media sensation since its, with viewers sharing hilarious memes about being blindfolded to avoid certain situations.

Despite warnings from Netflix and just general common sense, it looks like people are still participating in that stupid Bird Box Challenge.

Police are recommending reckless driving charges in the case but it will be up to the County Attorney's Office to determine what charges, if any, are filed.
