Could another quarterback be on the move?
Oklahoma backup quarterback Austin Kendall is entering the NCAA transfer portal, according to a report from Tulsa World's Eric Bailey.
Of the quarterbacks now on the roster, Kendall figures to be in best position to earn the starting job at the outset of next season, but the Sooners could also elect to bring in a transfer to bridge the gap between Murray and five-star prospect Spencer Rattler. But the move also gives him the option of transferring away from Norman.
Kendall played backup to Heisman Trophy victor Baker Mayfield during his true freshman year before sitting out a redshirt season.
If Kendall does bolt, that leaves redshirt freshman Tanner Mordecai and incoming five-star recruit Spencer Rattler as the only quarterbacks on the roster.
Kendall, who perhaps would have been the favorite to become OU's starting quarterback in 2019, graduated this fall and will be eligible to play immediately should he go through with the transfer.
