Alia really upped the stakes, when she wore a stylish baby blue Manish Malhotra suit for the talked-about meeting, along with boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor and a group of Bollywood stars, including filmmaker Karan Johar and actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Vicky Kaushal. It was attended by Karan Johar, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar and other celebrities.
Karan Johar too posted a photo of himself with Modi and wrote, "Thank you for meeting us today sir! @narendramodi! An incredible exchange of thoughts and ideas with the forces of the film fraternity and the honourable Prime Minister!" As a community, there is a huge interest to contribute to nation building. PM Modi also shared the selfie on his official Instagram handle with the caption, "Had a good meeting with popular film personalities". At the trailer launch of the film, which took place a few days back, Ranveer Singh rapped onstage and even wished Farhan Akhtar on his birthday by rapping to a birthday song and we were convinced that only Ranveer Singh could have pulled off the role of a rapper with so much ease. Besides Karan Johar, Ekta Kapoor, director Ashwini Iyer Tiwari, and Rohit Shetty also presented the film industry.
But the photo did not go down well with social media users as many activists and journalists called them "spineless" for posing with a prime minister, whose controversial policy decisions had caused a lot of distress to a large section of the Indian society.
