First Samsung Galaxy M Smartphones Set to Debut on January 28

Postado Janeiro 14, 2019

Expected to arrive in India by the end of January (or around a month before the flagship Galaxy S10 is revealed), the Galaxy M10, M20 and M30 will be sold exclusively through Samsung's online store and Amazon's Indian site, with plans for a full global rollout to come shortly after.

Samsung will be launching the Galaxy M series in India prior to a global rollout.

Samsung is expected to bring three smartphones under the Galaxy M series.

"The new series is designed around India's millennial consumers". However, Samsung in its press release noted that the Galaxy M series smartphones will come with "powerful display, powerful camera, powerful battery and a powerful processor helping the smartphones deliver power-packed performance". However, a new Reuter report claims that phones under the budget M series will first launch in India before heading to other markets, in a bid to regain ground ceded to Chinese rivals such as Xiaomi in the world's second-biggest mobile phone market.

The Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20 will be Samsung's first smartphones to come with the Infinity V notch display. We expect to double our online business.

Xiaomi has managed to maintain a steady lead over Samsung for over a year now, with a 27.3% market share compared to its rival's 22.6% in the July-September 2018 period, buoyed by a almost 50% share in the online segment and rapid expansion in its bricks-andmortar channel as well, according to IDC.

Asked if the latest series will help the company drive volumes and get more market share, Warsi said: "market share is a by-product of various actions and business efforts that go in". In the third quarter of 2018, Samsung held a market share of 23 per cent and had to settle for a number two spot.

Samsung has confirmed its Galaxy M series will make its official debut on January 28.

Developed and made in India, the M Series handsets will be priced from 10,000 rupees (around $142 / £110 / AU$197) to 20,000 rupees (around $284 / £220 / AU$394). The device is expected to feature a 12MP + 5MP dual-camera setup, an 8MP selfie camera and a large 5,000mAh battery.
