Miami Reportedly Steals Dan Enos From Alabama to Be New OC

Postado Janeiro 14, 2019

"Dan was my primary target for our offensive coordinator position from the outset and I'm thrilled that he's now a Miami Hurricane", Diaz said in a statement.

"I couldn't be more excited to join a program as rich in tradition as the University of Miami". Five coaches from the 2017 staff were not on the field in 2018, and the Crimson Tide still ran the table leading up to the College Football Playoff National Championship loss to Clemson.

A former quarterback at Michigan State (1987-90), Enos has more than two decades of experience coaching skill position players. This was an opportunity I felt I couldn't pass up. "I learned so much during my time there and I will always be grateful".

When asked about the offensive coordinator promotion at Alabama during the team's Media Day at the Orange Bowl in December, Enos neither confirmed nor denied the report.

Enos served a short stint as an offensive assistant coach at MI in January 2018.

Enos will also serve as quarterbacks coach for the Hurricanes.

Enos was one of the driving forces behind an Alabama offense that set the program record for total offense (522 yards per game) and scoring offense (45.6 points per game) in 2018.

Enos was in line to get the offensive coordinator job at Alabama, but will head to the ACC instead. Tua Tagavailoa threw for 3,966 yards, 43 touchdowns and six interceptions, Tagavailoa's 199.4 passer rating set the all-time record in FBS.

So it's out with the old, in with the new on offense and more of the same on defense.

Enos try to fix an offense that was among the nation's worst last season. The Chippewas were 26-36 in Enos' five seasons. CMU's win over Western Kentucky in the 2012 Little Caesars Pizza Bowl was just the third bowl win in program history.

Enos was a previous head coach and has years of play-calling experience.

The end result was landing Manny Diaz as the team's head coach - a move that paid off in recruiting.

Perry, meanwhile, appeared in 11 games, completed 51 percent of his passes for 1,091 yards with 13 touchdowns and six interceptions. Diaz did not retain any of the offensive coaches when he took the job following the surprise retirement of Mark Richt, and has insisted that quarterback play in 2019 must be better - whether the answer is already on Miami's campus, or if a graduate transfer (which Hurts is) has to be brought aboard.
