The first big release of 2019 is slowly and steadily turning out to be a victor at the box office.
Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam starrer "Uri: The Surgical Strike" has been quite unbelievable in its first weekend. Directed by Aditya Dhar, Uri: The Surgical Strike is based on Indian Army's 2016 surgical strike on terrorist camps in Pakistan in retaliation to the terror attack on an Army camp in Uri in Jammu and Kashmir. The film has till now managed to collect a total of Rs 35 crore in three days at the box office. However, the numbers collected right through the weekend are more than what one expected to begin with and hence in that aspect the film has done well.
With the 2019 Lok Sabha polls around the corner, there have been allegations that Uri: The Surgical Strike is an attempt to make the ruling party look good.
Uri: The Surgical Strike has already overtaken the other Bollywood release this week, Vijay Ratnakar Gutte's The Accidental Prime Minister, which features Anupam Kher and Akshaye Khanna in the lead roles.
