Here's an official description: "As the enigmatic leader of the cult-like Farm, Edgar arrives in Riverdale to spread his teachings and heal the ravaged soul of this once wholesome town". Edgar appears to be a charming and handsome guru, but underneath may lie his more sinister agenda. He's got Alice Cooper completely brainwashed (she donated all of Betty's money to The Farm) and his power in the town only seems to be growing.
Murray is the latest star to join the Riverdale cast this season - following Kelly Ripa'sfirst appearance as Mrs. Mulwray, the gun-toting mistress of Hiram Lodge - played by Ripa's real-life hubby, Mark Consuelos.
Chad Michael Murray, also known as CMM, has not been in a ton of things since being a teen heartthrob.
Judging by a preview for Riverdale's upcoming episode, the show will finally head to the Farm next week, though since Murray's casting was just announced, it's unlikely Betty, or viewers, will meet Edgar just yet.
The cult, which has been vaguely referred to as "The Farm" since Season 1, was most prominently teased in the Season 2 finale, when Polly recommended it as a way to help Alice move on from the Cooper family drama of the past year.
Riverdale airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on the CW.
