LeBron returns after missing 17 games

Los Angeles went 6-11 in his absence.

LeBron James says he played more than he expected as the Lakers needed an extra period to dispose of the Clippers.

It's the longest absence of LeBron's 16-year career which is a testament to how well he maintains his body and health.

"I've never been injured before like that", James was quoted as saying by NBC Los Angeles after the game.

That LeBron effect turned into 24 points, 14 rebounds, and nine assists leading the Lakers to a 123-120 overtime win against the Clippers. Rajon Rondo's layup snapped the scoreless stretch, and the Lakers were ahead 54-53 at halftime. However, late in games, the Clippers lacked someone beyond Williams they could count on to create and make plays.

"I am at 80 percent right now, but I was good enough to feel confident to just keep pushing throughout the game", he said. I'm looking forward to seeing how I feel tomorrow. "It's going to be a tell-tale sign of all the rehab, work, everything I've been putting in for the past five weeks".

"If we play like we did tonight and I continue to get back to a groove then we can put ourselves in a position for a post-season spot". Everybody was huge. It is going to be different guys every night for our team.

Much to the dismay of Clippers fans not only was the basket allow to stand but the referee penalized Marjanovic, sending Stephenson to the charity stripe for a free throw he duly converted to give his team a five-point lead.

James said he trained just as hard when he was sidelined as he does in a normal season. "This is where I can shut out everything, be out there with my guys, command my guys, and get a win on the road".

Tied 118-all, James scored the go-ahead basket in overtime.

Clippers guard Avery Bradley was questionable because of a sore right knee but started and finished with 13 points and eight rebounds.

Williams couldn't get a potential tying 3-pointer off in the right corner before the final buzzer.

Lance Stephenson connected on multiple 3-pointers that helped the Lakers maintain a lead each time the Clippers threatened to pull even.
