In addition to this federal indictment, Barba is also facing charges in a felony marijuana case in Kansas.

Another alleged drug ring member who has been charged, Justin Michael Isaac, allegedly directed Barba to drop off about 830 grams, or close to two pounds, of fentanyl in Norfolk, Virginia, according to the indictment.

Barba, 32, was arrested October 11 in downtown Norfolk and charged in a local court with one count of possession of more than 100 grams of heroin with intent to distribute it. Later that month, Stennett delivered about 7 kilos of cocaine to a conspirator.

A former contestant on "American Idol" and "Fear Factor" is accused of distributing heroin. Her attorney said at the time that Barba was unaware the drug was in her rented vehicle.

Barba, who is best known for making it just shy of the top 12 round on "American Idol" in 2007, drew backlash that year for posing in a wet T-shirt near the World War II Memorial in Washington, DC. She appeared this year on comedian Jimmy Kimmel's show for a segment featuring other Idol alums titled "Where Are They Now?"
