Now the Washington Post reports that the president has a new toy that he can enjoy during "executive time": A $50,000 state-of-the-art golf simulator that will let him virtually play 18 holes without ever having to go outdoors.
Here's a tasty little nugget for those who criticize President Donald Trump for playing too much golf.
The new system - which the president paid for himself - replaced an obsolete simulator that had been installed under President Obama, the paper reported, citing a pair of sources. So one can imagine the torture that must come from having access to this incredible machine - which allows the user to play a virtual round at the world's finest real and imagined courses - but simply not having the free time to use it.
But Trump has not used it yet, and does not plan to use it during his unstructured "executive time" during the day, when he works the phones and stays on top of the news, an official said.
After the shutdown, the President golfed at his Florida club earlier this month with Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus.
