George scored 18 of his 47 points in the fourth quarter alone, as the Thunder began the period on a 19-10 scoring run and blowing the roof off of Chesapeake Energy Arena through the barrage it put on Portland.

Westbrook scored his 10th assist in the fourth quarter to achieve the feat after he also had 18 points and 14 rebounds as he needed almost the entire game to pass Wilt Chamberlain for sole possession of the record.

"I know what I'm capable of doing, and I just go out and compete and whatever happens, happens, man", he was quoted as saying by ESPN.

"He's the best competitor I've seen". If the Thunder get high-level play from their two All-Stars they should be able to walk away with a win. It was his league-leading 23rd triple-double of the season.

"What a player, what a team-mate".

Then when he overlapped with Russell Westbrook, Felton became a nightmare for the Blazers on the perimeter, draining two open 3-pointers in the last four and a half minutes of the first half.

The forward finished the night with 12 rebounds and 10 assists.

"This is the best I've felt mentally", George added. Oklahoma City is 9-1 in the span.

"We got to take care of home court".

Setting the new triple-double standard looked like a long shot for Westbrook, needing five assists in the final eight minutes of Monday's contest. "I think a lot of the things he does that he gets attention for in terms of the triple-doubles are things that impact winning for our team".

"They made my job easy and it's my job to set the table for them".

The Thunder star described the achievement as an "unbelievable moment" and insisted that even after a decade in the National Basketball Association, the thrill of playing in the league remained as intense as ever.
