Enes Kanter will be a Trail Blazer as the former Knicks center will get a chance to play with a contender. "Excited to meet my new teammates, coaches, staff and most importantly the fans".

The 26-year-old Turkish big man became available after being waived by the New York Knicks at the National Basketball Association trading deadline last Thursday. "Let's go Rip City". They were now able to come out on top of the sweepstakes after several teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers, showed interest.

The Blazers are 33-23, tied with the Houston Rockets for fourth in the Western Conference entering Wednesday's games.

Kanter, who was born in Switzerland but is a Turkish citizen, has been openly critical of the Turkish government. In an effort to experiment with his young core, coach David Fizdale would play him in just three games over a 12-game span, prompting Kanter to publicly voice his frustrations to the NY media over a lack of playing time and those receiving court time ahead of him, namely recent acquisition DeAndre Jordan.

Kanter had fallen out of the Knicks' rotation, losing his starting spot after just five games, as the Knicks pile up the losses and prioritize their younger players.

An eight-year pro, Kanter appeared in 44 contests for the Knicks this season, averaging 14.0 points on.536 shooting, 10.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 25.6 minutes a night.
