LSU Wins At The Buzzer Over No. 5 Kentucky

Postado Fevereiro 14, 2019

A general view of the Kentucky Wildcats game against the Grand Canyon Antelopes at Rupp Arena on November 14, 2014 in Lexington, Kentucky.

This is a lot of points to give a team that has the athleticism to give Kentucky a run for their money, however, Kentucky is looking pretty unstoppable as of late and as Kentucky has won by at least 8 points in each of their 4 conference home wins, including a recent 28-point victory over SC, I'm going to roll with Kentucky to cover this spread. "To come on the road and beat a top five team like this in this type of environment is phenomenal for us". "There were a couple seconds left, so I went to the glass and tried to make something happen".

The Tigers' Kavell Bigby-Williams tipped in a missed shot by LSU teammate Skylar Mays as time expired. Thanks to that final play, No. 19 LSU edged out Kentucky 73 -71. John Calipari's Wildcats lost the game in what proved to be a contested situation, with many thinking that LSU got away with an offensive interference on Bigby-Williams' game-winning shot.

To be honest with you, I actually agree with Steratore on this one, but I also don't care because I love watching Kentucky lose.

That said, according to the NCAA rule book, the basket shouldn't have been reviewed. Keldon Johnson added 16 points for Kentucky.

LSU was led, as is typical, by some solid performances from guard Tremont Waters, who chimed in with 15 points and 5 assists including some clutch buckets down the stretch.

Kentucky has been one of the most impressive teams in all of College Basketball over the past month and has been solid on both ends of the court as the Wildcats rank 55th in scoring offense, 37th in FG%, and 39th in scoring defense.

PJ Washington the Wildcats with 20 points and nine rebounds. LSU, meanwhile, gets its crack at the Vols two weeks from now in Baton Rouge.

LSU is at Georgia Saturday.

Kentucky hosts Tennessee on Saturday night.
