Racing Point reveals tweaked livery for 2019

As with several other teams, the auto shown is not the team's 2019 entry, but the livery is that which will adorn their vehicle - the event labeled by the team as a "livery and identity presentation".

The Silverstone-based outfit officially entered the championship mid-2018 due to the convoluted manner in which the Lawrence Stroll-led takeover occurred, though it was ostensibly the same Force India outfit that finished fourth across 2016/17, with a history dating back to 1991 beginning with Jordan Grand Prix.

Stroll, 20, and his Mexican teammate wore pink Racing Point uniforms that match the car's colours as they talked about the upcoming season.

Perez has been joined for 2019 by Lance Stroll, son of team co-owner Lawrence, who raced for Williams across 2017/18, taking a best finish of third in Azerbaijan in his rookie campaign.

Force India finished fourth in the constructors' championship in both 2016 and 2017 and would have beaten Renault to fourth previous year as well had they not been forced to start from zero points again at the Belgian Grand Prix because they were a new legal entity following Stroll's takeover.

As revealed by RaceFans last month, the team has attracted new sponsorship from SportPesa, which has become the team's new title sponsor.

"Now we have other pressures and that's to perform at any even higher level than we have before".

Racing Point has unveiled its new-look Formula 1 team during an event at the Canadian International Autoshow in Toronto on Wednesday.

"The targets are extreme", said Perez at the launch. "We started off with Racing Point as our company name and we took the time from August until now to discuss and deliberate what the name should be". "We are aiming for at least fourth again this season. I would be very pleased if we can have a couple of podiums as well - and, why not, our first victory together".

However, Racing Point has now stuck. "We all came to the conclusion that we're a team of racers, there's nothing wrong with Racing Point and it actually encompasses who we are".
