After having almost a week to stew following a horrendous second half against Michigan State, the Michigan basketball team was sharp Friday night against Iowa, defeating the Hawkeyes 74-53 as it rolled into the Big Ten semifinals Saturday against Minnesota.
What: No. 3 MI vs. Iowa never really threatened MI, being outscored 34-26.
Simpson was incredible in the win and he was a driving force on both ends of the floor. More impressive, he totaled 11 assists to just one turnover while also grabbing four rebounds and two steals. A 27-23 Wolverine advantage turned into 40-27.
They are the final game of the night, and will take on Iowa, who beat No. 11 IL on Thursday.
The Wolverines, who lost their share of the Big Ten title after losing to Michigan State last weekend, did have a bye until the quarterfinals.
