Real Madrid: Zidane drops Courtois for first game back in charge

Thibaut Courtois, who joined Madrid from Chelsea last summer but has struggled for form in recent games, has also been dropped, with Keylor Navas starting between the sticks for Saturday's game against Celta Vigo.

Zidane returned to the Bernabeu just 10 months after departing the Real hotseat after leading the Spanish giants to three straight UEFA Champions League titles.

Footbal icon Zinedine Zidane has got his 2nd reign as Real Madrid boss underway against Celta Vigo in La Liga, and the match is all square at 0-0 at the break as "Zizou" prepares to give a half-time team talk yet again.

With the club 12 points behind league leaders Barcelona and five points behind second-placed Atletico Madrid, Zidane has been tasked with restoring the club to its former glory.

But Zidane is using the end of the season to rebuild for the future as he signed Porto defender Militao for £42million this week.

Zidane left the Spanish club previous year after winning the 2017/18 UEFA Champions League title beating Liverpool in the final in Kiev.

The ex-France global is believed to have left the club due to not being promised enough transfer funds in the summer.
