The Warriors have recently announced that the remainder of the tickets for tonight's NRL match between the Bulldogs will be free tonight to the public from 12pm today.
Fans will be able to get free tickets for the game at Mt Smart, which kicks off at 5pm.
"Mt Smart (Stadium) is our home and a safe house for every New Zealander".
"We represent New Zealand and Christchurch is a huge part of our fan base".
Auckland Stadiums acting director James Parkinson said there would be a strong police presence at the venue, additional security staff and other measures.
"These measures will be evident for all that attend and we do ask for people to arrive earlier than usual".
The Warriors will wear black armbands in their season-opener and a minute's silence will also be observed by both teams before kick-off. The New Zealand national anthem will also be played.
It is unsure just how many tickets are left but the allocated tickets will be restricted to manage the crowd.
"Let's stand as one tonight".
Ticketmaster, the Warriors' ticketing partner, has also waived all ticketing fees today.
