Ford also chose to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a video of Vaughn Gittin Jr. drifting his green 900-hp Mustang around a highway cloverleaf interchange.
But, with St. Patrick's Day approaching, the product planners at Ford couldn't help but show off the new mega-Mustang in a bright shade of Grabber Lime.
Though deeper in hue than its classic namesake, the Grabber Lime harkens back to its namesake color found on the muscular Mustangs of The Me Decade.
Other bold colors will also be offered, including Twister Orange and Red Hot Metallic.
"It's lime green on steroids", said Barb Whalen, Ford color and materials manager. "This colour traces back to a Mustang heritage colour while bringing it forward with more modern, dynamic pigments and bold new energy". "And your vehicle is an extension of that".
Now, we don't know if any of that is true, but undoubtedly there will be more than a few people who are stoked for the return of bright, garish colors to muscle cars. That makes the new Mustang range-topper slower than the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.
